Man, I wish I could animate this as I wrote it. Gosh, I'd kill to see Dawn, Sam, and others here instead of Lightning and all his dumb bullshit. You actually mentioned in your Episode 7 review that he was dull AND boring in this one!
You and me both! They are so much more compelling than that dumb jock ever was.
Yup! I said it then and I'll say it again because.....I just like saying it: He's dull AND boring!
He sure was. And he made Jo turn against Brick! In my version, she never would think of doing that!
I think I like your version better
As for Lightning, Scott is the only reason he was still around. I think if Scott hadn't framed Dawn in episode 5, he'd have been gone.
Thanks! Yeah, I do too. If only they'd done that...
WOW! This is one helluva chapter! I'm still working my way through it, but I mean, wow!
Let's see, some of my favorite parts:
Brick standing up for his friends at every turn.
Jo sharing her life story with Brick.
Cameron and Dawn professing their love for each other, ESPECIALLY on the dock
Zoey and Anne Maria's fight
Dawn busting up Scott's ugly face at elimination XD
Dawn's downtime with Zeke
Those stood out the most for me
I cannot wait for the next chapter!
All those moments were good to me as well, even though I wrote them in the first place.
Brick sure is loyal- something worthy of never being voted off until later.
Jo sure has quite the past as well- sharing it helps others understand her.
Yeah, that scene sure got spicy! Those two have a passion for each other that is nearly unmatched in this TD universe.
Indeed, that fight was intense...did it seem TOO violent or graphic?
True, that bastard deserved it all. He got a makeover, surely. But he's surely no quitter. Now you see the nasty side of him?
Indeed- that was cute. I made sure she was a better guest than Anne Maria could EVER be.
Glad you can't wait- the next will be soon I suppose, as long as I can get some time to work on it. Glad you enjoyed!
Nice insight into her character, I know I'm invested ^^
Mmhmm, they totally should be together
Didn't bother me Sure it got brutal, but I think it was just fine
Bro, I've been hating the nasty side of that guy for as long as I can remember, and in this story it's no exception, he's truly bad to the bone. Nice to see Dawn paying him back for that
I did very much so. Thanks for this chapter, I cannot wait for more!
Thanks! Jo sure is a less bitchy jockette here, and that's quite an achievement!
I think so too. Even if not in the canon, I hope the couple gets a following.
Oh yeah, I know. He's been nasty, but this is the worst thing he's done in ReRevenge yet. Good thing Cam got some goods on his way out, eh?
Were you glad the 'love triangle' was ended too?
You're welcome, and more is to come!
Yes it is, I really wanted to like Jo more on the show, but she was so cutthroat like Mike said. At least here I can relate with her a little more So that is an accomplishment.
I think it might actually be growing. Sort of a hunch, but I think it's gaining a following.
Indeed, Cam got to kiss Dawn That's some compensation for the sin that Scott will soon be paying for.
Yes, I was. Love triangles are so overrated
Happy to hear it!
Also, wrote an AMAZING fic called "Brick and Jo: A Love Story" on fanfic.net. It makes Jo look even BETTER than in mine! Go check it out sometime, I must say.
Good- it is super cute, even if it isn't canon!
Yeah, and MORE than a kiss! Great compensation, I say. And yes, Scott WILL pay.
Sure as hell they are! Hope the TDWT one is resolved in season five.
Jah, mon! I hope I can finish by the end of the month!
Here’s my views on the chapter.
The G.I.Y.G.A.S Machine was a genius idea; I was expecting a horrible gaseous monster with a fetus silhouette in its body, but this is even better, Very clever idea indeed.
I liked how Ezekiel got some positive development … I just wish he could have been given the proper help and been bought out of the mine. I’m assuming that we will see more of him in future episodes. I’d PAY to see him maul Scott.
Jo’s memories of the wall were really interesting and sweet to read; it shows how tough she is. I really like how you write her since she was a bit of a pill in the real show.
Manitoba Smith’s appearance was HILARIOUS; I was almost rolling about laughing when I read that. He’s probably the best of Mike’s personalities … though Chester comes close.
The fight scenes were just INCREDIBLE! I mean, in TDL2 I had two of my characters, one good and one pure evil, fight to the near dearth … but this was EPIC. Ezekiel protecting Dawn … that was really sweet. You know, I bet if both are in season 5 they could easily get along.
I loved the firefly puns; PK Fireflies references Earthbound and Angry Firefly Nerd references the Angry Video Game nerd, right?
Mike seeing his dad in ‘limbo’ was a very nice scene indeed, I really enjoyed seeing it. And truthfully, the ones we love are never gone, just a world apart.
Yay! Brick and Jo are official!
Seeing Sam beat up Chris was AWESOME, he SO had it coming.
I KNEW Scott had the blasted Immunity Idol; I think the only point of it being included in the real show was an excuse to keep Scott around. Lazy writing. You however made it much better even though Cameron is a GREAT character.
It was really sad seeing Cameron and Dawn say goodbye … but at least they made out one last time and Cameron left with his dignity.
I have to wonder about Mike’s dormant personalities though, what could they be? If you haven’t got all of them planned out, how about including a highly fruity stage magician with a Russian accent called Peter Innovitch Volodarskii?
And now, here are my opinions on the characters for this episode.
Anne Maria: She may not have been a contestant but I have to say that her development was awesome. Her and Vito saying goodbye was really touching indeed. I liked hoe she and Zoey made peace and everything ended up alright.
Brick: Awesome as always! His selflessness and hardiness was shown to full effect; he may be a cadet but he is definitely one of the nicest characters. Nice to see that he and Jo are together now; about time! I have a feeling he’ll make it to the finals, here’s hoping that I’m correct!
Cameron: It is indeed a shame that he was voted out by that Satan of Total Drama; he saved the island from the toxic radiation and was hilarious when fueled by adrenalin. He is gone but not forgotten.
Dawn: Her friendship with Ezekiel was really sweet and I loved the moments with her and Cameron; she really rocked this time! I just hope she can cheer up and get even with Scott. I really like her interactions with Jo, they’re very interesting.
Jo: Great character development! It’s nice to have read the change of her going from a cutthroat competitor to a loyal friend and an epic person. I really like how you’ve done her in this story; she actually put herself in danger to help the others, pure selflessness.
Mike: I think he’s the true star of the story … I think the final 3 will be him, Brick and Dawn. Seeing him fight his personalities, interact with his deceased dad and still manage to lead a team is inspiring. After all that has happened it is amazing he has it in him to keep going.
Sam: He’s so epic; attacking Chris, riding a gopher, making references … epic! I’m hoping he’ll get far, I predict a lot of development between him and Dakota in the next episode.
Scott: URGH! This guy is the most disgusting, slimy, horrid, EVIL and psychopathic fucking shithead in the history of fiction. He is worse than a combination of Porky Minch, Jasper Batt Jr and Pigma Dengar! Laughing at Dawn’s sadness, groping Zoey, not caring if somebody is in danger … I hope he has an AGONIZING and PAINFUL downfall. Why don’t the maggots just throw the next challenge to get rid of him? He has no idol and it’d be a poetic way to defeat him; the team killer getting defeated in the same way he nearly destroyed his original team.
Zoey: Badass and very adorable! Her fight with Ann Maria was epic and seeing her accept what could have been her death with so little fear … how DARE the Zoey hating idiots call her bland! I’m glad she and Mike are still together. And she’s right; her butt sure had a bad day.
An epic episode; I think the next one will be even better! It’ll be the end of the line for Scott soon enough…
I'm glad you liked the G.I.Y.G.A.S idea, because otherwise I would have been hard-pressed to find another twist out there. Also, Cameron challenging it alone was cool, right? Did you remember his "Confession Cam" joke?
Also, Ezekiel was somewhat similar to in the show itself, though some things in this version may imply continuity...sorry he didn't escape. However, it will serve a purpose...for later...
Of all the characters, I thought going into Jo's past would be awesome for her. Glad you found it sweet- it even helps her relate to Brick. And I SO agree that she was a real bitch on the show.
Awesome! I am glad you found Manitoba funny- there was this fear I had that nobody would understand him at all. How much of the slang did you get anyways? I love writing for him though...
You think I write the fight scenes well? Thanks! They can get pretty intense at times, and whatnot. But to know they were epic is really uplifting! I think maybe Dawn and Ezekiel could get along pretty well- if they let the two both compete in the fifth season. Here's to hoping they do...
Yep, both of those were what I referenced! I knew I had to put in a 'PK' joke somewhere, and I knew this was a great place. In addition, I can see Sam easily as the AVGN.
THAT was the word I was looking for- limbo. I guess you could say that's what it was. Indeed, Mike's dad is very important to him.
Go Jock/Bro! WOO-HOO!
And then Sam boasted about it in the confessional! He's really getting more badass, I must say.
Yeah, I'm sure it was obvious since chapter 7. See, he was motivated to get it earlier after Dawn managed to stay in episode 5. And yes, Cam leaving was hard for me to write. But I'm glad you liked this one better.
I know...those two were very cute together. On other hand, Cam never would have gotten that much love until much later otherwise. Anyways, it shall play a role in upcoming chapters- that is, their relationship.
You'll see soon enough- it'll be fun. If you have ideas for me, please send me a note about them. I'll then tell you what I think.
And as for the characters:
Yes, Anne Maria got her redemption- poor thing was put through so much, and now she's gone again. Good thing she wrapped up some loose ends with Vito, eh? And hey, I liked writing for her.
Brick sure is a nice guy- one of my main dislikes for the mine episode was that he was eliminated. But now, you get to see him go even further! Cool, right? Also, I'm glad to pair him with Jo at this point in the game.
As for Cameron, yeah- it was hard to get rid of him. It comes to show that sparing Dawn indirectly led him to be out as opposed to winning. However, I hope his time on the show was worthwhile and that he had you smiling. Plus, saving the island alone was pretty cool- could you read his adrenaline speak?
Dawn is a major character, yeah. She was nice to Ezekiel and very loving to Cam- poor thing will be very sad next chapter. However, her and Scott will keep clashing and Jo is definitely her friend.
Jo is softer in this fic, for sure. I'm glad you like the change, and how she behaves now. Another twist was that she helped Brick save the others, instead of vote him off for it. So much better in my opinion!
Mike...all I can say is that he's gone through lots of shit. His story is a dynamic one, and I'll let you know now he sure is doing well as the team leader. You think he's epic? Nice! He shall show more of his past, too later. So stay tuned, Mike lovers.
Sam is surely one of my own faves- I get to reference all these video games! Him beating up Chris was something I longed for to happen, so doing it was great in my mind. And yes, he will get his sweet time with Dakota soon.
Scott....my my, I hope he isn't TOO bad! I know he's to be hated, and I'm trying to stay true to that. And yes, all those guys you mentioned are far less despicable than him. All his shit that he does is very sick and twisted. Good question- I'd throw it if I was there. An ironic way to die! But we'll see what happens...
Many complain that Zoey was bland, so I made sure to give her lots of time to prove them wrong! Her fighting with Anne Maria was probably one of the longest part, content-wise, of the chapter. Also, the butt-attack part...hope that wasn't too graphic. Her and Mike ARE officially together at this point, which will affect stuff to come. Plus, her butt sure took a lot of clawing, groping, and being landed on. Hope it recovers...
Again, thanks for the feedback! I will try to continue impressing with my story, and making it go on with all the action! And for Scott, he is still the bad guy so maybe he can get plenty of punishment on his journey...
